He got in the NBA because his coach Cal had a decision to make he wanted Lonnie make his team lose the champion chip buy making Lonnie set the rest of the game. So what Cal did was put Lonnie Jackson in the game and won the champion chip

The quote I found in the book the "LIFE OF PI" is "START BLOWING YOUR WHISTLE AT FULL BLAST and IMMEDIATELY TRIP THE SEA ANCHOR" I choose this quote because when the boat was sinking every had to get in a little life boat and every one in the life boat was panicing because the boat was sinking.

I like the main character in the book "HOOPS" because he gots what it takes to make to the big leages. It took him years and years to get where he was at.

My new independent reading book is "HOOPS" its about an African American kid named Lonnie Jackson. He was a kid with a dream to become a pro in basketball and become the next big thing in basketball. Every day for the next 4 years he spent most of his time playing basket and practicing. when he was 14 he was short but his game was as good as the taller people but at age 16 he started to grow taller and taller when he would play basketball with people his size he was way better than them. And 1 day he dream would finally would come true he got drafted in to the NBA and that change his life for ever.

1 connection from my independent reading book is all your hard work that you put in to whatever your doing it would would soon pay off after reaching your goal. This connection goes with the book "HOOP DREAMS" because it is about an African American guy who's dream is to be in the NBA he followed his dream for a long time and at the end following his dreams finally payed off in the most heart for filling way he got in to the NBA. That's what happens when you follow your dreams its a good thing to have dreams.

I think my character changed a lot after the accident he had with the pick iron and the explosion. The docters said that his behavior would change his attitude towards everything would also change. The docters also said that the way think would change, the man called Phineas Gage his life would soon change after a few seconds an explosion that made a picking iron fly to Phineas's right cheek and out through his forehead.

The book that Im reading is PHINEAS CAGE it is based on a true but nasty story that happened in his accident happened in September 13, 1848 he and his crue where in the process of blasting a railroad right of way through granite bedrock. A spark flies onto the exposed blasting powder and then BLAM!!!!! the drill hole acts as a gun barrel, instead of a bullet it fires Phineas's rod straight upward . The pointy side of the rod goes through his left cheek bone and comes out his forehead.
